Top Of The Lake ist eine Mystery-Drama-Serie von Jane Campion und Gerard Lee, die in Neuseeland spielt. Fünf Jahre nach den schockierenden Ereignissen in ihrer Neuseeländischen Heimatstadt, kehrt Detective Robin Griffin nach Sydney zurück um ein neues Leben aufzubauen. Als ein Körper eines asiatischen Mädchens am Bondi Beach angespült wird, sieht es zunächst danach aus, dass der Mörder niemals gefunden wird. Doch dann entdeckt Griffin eine Spur im Fall „China Girl“: Sie war nicht die Einzige, die sterben musste.
